EU delegation discusses intensification of antisemitism in Europe
In the wake of a rise in number of antisemitic incidents, especially in Europe, the problem was discussed by Ambassador Danny Danon and UN ambassadors from the European Union at a special meeting at the headquarters of the EU delegation to the UN.
In February, increases in antisemitic episodes were reported in both Germany and France.
The German government reported a sharp increase in antisemitic events in 2018, with a 60% rise in physical attacks.
French politicians also noted the rise of occurrences, with French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner saying antisemitism is “spreading like poison.”
